24-Aug-2024: National Conference on Waqf Bill in New Delhi

A national conference on the Waqf Amendment Bill was organised by the IMCR at Aiwan-e-Ghalib Institute, Mata Sundari Lane, New Delhi, on 24 August 2024. The conference was attended by eminent persons of the community as well as secular personalities.
Those who participated in the conference included Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood, Justice Iqbal, Sanjay Singh, MP, Ziaur Rahman Barq, MP, Mohibullah Nadvi, MP, Nasir, MP, Abdur Rahim Mujaddidi, AIMPLB, Imran Masood, MP, Chairman, Rajasthan Waqf Board, Chairman, Waqf Board Andhra Pradesh, Hamdullah Syed, H. R. Mofar, Muslim Front Punjab, V. K. Tripathi, Gandhian, Syeda Saiyidain Hameed, former Member, Planning Commission, Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Sr. Congress Leader, former Minister, Salim Ansari, Ex. MP, Meem Afzal, Ex. MP and former Ambassador, Prof. Akhtarul Wasey, Dr. Syed Farooq, Himalaya Drugs Company, several other lawyers, activists and representatives of 17 states.
Most of the speakers made well-founded presentations. All presentations opposed the said Bill and, finally, through a unanimous resolution, it was decided that the Bill is opposed and rejected in toto and that the government must withdraw it.
